Overcoming Together
About UsDiscipleship ministry in the Word of God. Revealing the heart of God the Father, and to release the revelation of Jesus Christ, the great Physician and Healer to the whole person: Spirit, Soul, and Body, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Hi, welcome to Overcoming Together, a group of fellow believers dedicated to helping others. Together, in Christ Jesus, we can overcome the world!
Our Purpose, Mission & Vision
How do we operate…
Ministry is set up sort of like a doctor’s office. Teams of people pray for a short while in private rooms for those who come to receive ministry, teams are made up of men and women with tested ministry, character, etc. We pray for physical, spiritual, and emotional healing and then anything else the Lord reveals.
When you first walk through our doors, you will be greeted by a friendly receptionist. They will ask you to sign your name on a sheet as we operate on a first come, first serve basis. After filling out a short form, a trained prayer team of 3-4 people will pray, in advance, over your prayer request before meeting with you.
When you enter one of our two private rooms, you will be asked to face the cross, where Jesus lifted our burdens, accomplished and finished everything. Then, the team members will take turns to pray for you, according to the direction of the Holy Spirit. We are not counsellors, so this is not counselling. It is positive, gentle and prayer is administered with God’s love, grace and mercy.
Different Healing Rooms offer books, audio, video products that people may want to look through while waiting for or after prayer.
When your prayer time is finished, the person will be given some scriptures on “How to Keep Your Healing” and “The Healing Word.” Here is one of them:
Therefore, I say to you: “All things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they shall be granted you.
Mark 11:24
Send us a request to make a personal appointment for personal prayer. All appointments are on a first come, first serve basis and there is no cost involved. The Healing Rooms are 100% volunteer based, and 100% dependent on donations.
Fulfilling Our Purpose & Mission…
To bring and perpetuate healing to the body of Christ so the body of Christ can bring healing to the world
“We can do all things through Christ Jesus, Who strengthens us.”
To teach and equip with:
- A Salvation Message
- The Healing Word
- The Anointing that Empowers the Word
- Provide Prayer and Deliverance for the Sick and Bound
- An Impartation for Healing to the Local Church
To heal, equip, and release believers into the healing ministry according to:
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” Mark 16:17
Fulfilling Our Vision...
- To re-establish healing as a vital ministry of the body of Christ throughout the world.
- To unite, heal, and restore the army of God to prepare for the end time harvest.
- To restore the ministry of healing and deliverance to the whole church to reach every person in every nation, that every person be brought to a place of salvation and healing because the whole person needs to be impacted by the whole God, according to:
“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1Thessalonians 5:23
A Message From Our Directors
“GOD ALWAYS WAS THE HEALER. He is the healer still, and will ever remain the Healer. Healing is for YOU. Jesus healed, “all that came to Him.” He never turned any one away. He never said, “It is not God’s will to heal you,” or that it was better for the individual to remain sick, or that they were being perfected in character through the sickness. He healed them ALL. Thereby demonstrating FOREVER God’s unchangeable will concerning sickness. “
– John G. Lake, The Collected Works of John G. Lake

Our Core Beliefs & Values
We believe the 90th Chapter of Psalms which speaks about our minimum life expectancy.
“As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years or if due to strength, eighty years.” (Psalms 90:10)
We believe the 53rd Chapter of Isaiah holds the key to our redemption, spiritual and physical.
Isaiah 53:6 says: “. . .the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”
This verse provides for our salvation.
In Isaiah 53:4 it says, in the Hebrew, “Surely He hath borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains.”
This verse provides for healing. Matthew takes this verse from the Old Testament to the new in:
Matthew 8:17 when he says, “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses.”
If we believe that God laid our iniquities on Jesus, and because He laid our iniquities on Him there is salvation for us, then we can also believe what Isaiah tells us that He also laid our sicknesses and disease on Jesus and because of that healing is for us also.
We believe the word is the seed, that when planted will produce an abundant harvest. We must first understand Godʼs word for the provision of healing before we can possess the manifestation of it. We therefore share Godʼs word on healing, before we pray, to produce prevailing faith in the hearer that becomes the substance of things hoped for and is evidenced in the manifestation of healing.
We believe there is a filling of the Holy Spirit that is available to every Christian. The Holy Spirit has an anointing that produces power and can be received and increased through a yielded life. We believe in the nine gifts of the Spirit and the importance of the fruit of the Spirit, which empowers the gifts.
Each prayer servant in this ministry must be called by God, yielded to His Holy Spirit, seek an increase in anointing, be open to operate in any gift of the Spirit that is necessary to minister life to the informed, draw daily from the Word and in prayer and continually give God the Glory for what He has done.
Each prayer servant must not only minister to the sick, but should be helping to equip others in the body to do the same.
This ministry and its servants serve the body of Christ and are submitted to its leadership. We look for this leadership to give us spiritual support, to come alongside and in our unity provide the strength and power to see the sick set free.
GOD
God — We believe in one God revealed in three Persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
(Matthew 3:16, 17; John 17)
God the Father — We believe that our Father in Heaven is the Father of all flesh and spirits.
(Numbers 16:22; Numbers 27:16; Hebrews 12:9)
God the Son, Christ Jesus, His Divinity and Humanity — We believe that Jesus Christ of Nazareth is God who came in the flesh, born of the Virgin Mary, and that He is both fully man and fully God.
(Luke 1:26-38; John 14:1-3; Acts 2:36; Acts 3:14, 15; Philippians 2:5-11; Ephesians 1:3-15)
God the Holy Spirit — We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity whose purpose in the redemption is to convict of sin, regenerate, sanctify, and empower the repentant believer, guide the believer into understanding the Holy Scriptures, indwell and give gifts to the believers as He wills, that they may minister as Christ would to men. We believe that the manifestations of the Holy Spirit recorded in 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 and the importance of the fruit of the Spirit which empowers the gifts shall operate in the churches today which yield to the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe a believer can be baptized in the Holy Spirit at the moment of regeneration, or anytime subsequent to his regeneration (new birth) experience. We believe that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is for all believers as promised by John the Baptist, was experienced by the early disciples of Christ, and is evidenced in the lives of many present-day believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Luke 11:13; John 7:37-39, 14:16,17; Matthew 3:11; Acts 1:4,5,8; Acts 10:44-47, 19:1-6; Galatians 5:22-23)
SCRIPTURE / BIBLE
The Holy Bible — We believe in the divine inspiration and inerrancy of the Holy Bible, both the Old and New Testaments.
(2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12)
UNITY
Ordinances – We believe that the two ordinances of the church are water baptism and communion (The Lordʼs Supper).
(Matthew 3:15, 16, 28:19-20; Acts 8:38; Romans 6:1-4; Luke 22:13-20).
FREEDOM / LIBERTY
True Freedom and Liberty – We believe that true freedom can only be found in God. Our freedom was purchased at a price. Jesus Christ paid the price for our freedom. Freedom is also found in obedience to God’s Word.
(Luke 4:18; 2Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:1; James 1:25; James 2:12; 1Peter 2:16)
LOVE
God is Love – We believe that God in three persons is the living embodiment of true Love.
(1John 4:8)
SALVATION
Salvation – We believe that the terms of salvation are repentance toward God from sin, and a personal, heartfelt faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which results in regeneration of the person, and eternal reward in Heaven. This salvation is entirely by grace of our Lord and not of works. Works are excluded except as fruit of salvation.
(Matthew 25:34, 46; Acts 3:19,20; Romans 4:1-5, 5:1,2; Ephesians 2:8-10; Revelation 20:11-13)
Blood Atonement — We believe in the saving power of the Blood of Jesus Christ and His imputed righteousness to all who believe on Him with faith.
(Acts 4:12; Romans 4:1-9, 5:1-11; Ephesians 1:3-15)
Bodily Resurrection — We believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ and all believers.
(Luke 24:39-43; John 20:24-29)
Ascension — We believe that Jesus Christ ascended to the Father and is presently seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us.
(John 14:1-6; Romans 8:34)
MAN & ETERNITY
Man — We believe that man, in his natural state, is a sinner, without hope, and without God, destined for eternal punishment in Hell.
(Matthew 25:41,45; Romans 3:19-23; Galatians 3:22; Ephesians 2:1,2,12; Revelation 20:14,15)
Second Coming — We believe in the visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ to this earth to gather His Church (Bride) and judge the world.
(Acts 1:10, 11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; James 5:8; Revelation 1:7)
Consecrated Life – We believe that believers should seek, as the early disciples did, to practice a life consecrated unto Jesus Christ, separate from the world, and lived out in fellowship with local believers. We should also adopt standards of conduct that shall exalt our Lord and His church.
(Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:1-3; Galatians 6:14; Ephesians 5:11; Colossians 3:17)
WHO WE ARE
Our Ministry Team & Leadership
Here is a bit of background on our directors and about the ministry team that supports them. How they are fulfilling the call that God has on their lives, around leadership, in the area of healing and passing on to others the revelation of the Father’s Love for us.
Rev. Troy Perrin and Rev. Barbara Perrin are the Local Directors for Healing Rooms of Halifax, a former member of the International Association of Healing Rooms (IAHR). Their IAHR membership spanned from January 2016 until January 2020, with the ministry continuing to diversify and expand into other areas of focus and ministry.
The Perrins have a desire to support, encourage and help others realize their identity in God, to know that it is God’s will to heal, and fulfill their God given purpose through the Rhema Word of the Lord.
History:
On September 19-20, 2014, Rev. Dr. John Roddam, Convener of the local chapter of the Order of St. Luke, hosted Maggie Baratto, Canadian Director of International Association of Healing Rooms, for “official” IAHR Healing Rooms Training, in Halifax. After hearing Maggie for the first time, during these training sessions, Troy and Barb felt a burning passion to join in the Healing Rooms vision, and share the Father’s love and His heart to heal with others.
For a period of time, Troy and Barb discerned that, for now, they were to partner with others who wanted to lead an initiative, and to see the Healing Rooms established here in Halifax. Those plans never materialized over the course of the year, and after taking it to the Lord in prayer, they discerned that it was time to take a leadership role and take the next steps towards establishing a Healing Room in the greater Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).
On May 1-2, 2015, Troy & Barb, on their own initiative, hosted Maggie & Eddie Baratto for “official” IAHR Healing Rooms Training, in Halifax. Using that event as a launching point, they proceeded to organize and train a core team of volunteers, established an organization, and officially launched Healing Rooms of Halifax Ministries for public ministry on January 26, 2016.
Reverends Troy & Barbara Perrin
Reverends Troy and Barbara Perrin recently received their ministerial credentials through ordination on January 27, 2018, under the Independent Assemblies of God international (IAOGI) Canada.
The ordination ceremony was held at Trinity Anglican Church reception hall, 321 Main Avenue, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Jack Skafte, IAOGI Canada Maritimes Local Secretary, and Senior Pastor, Living Word Fellowship, Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Accountability
- As ordained ministers, we are accountable through the organization (IAOGI) we have received our ministerial credentials from and the church that ordained us
- Formerly, our advisory board was supporting the directors in making important ministry decisions. According to International Healing Room guidelines, each Healing Room must establish an Advisory Board of 3-5 people with at least two of them being pastors or clergy. The Healing Rooms of Halifax Advisory Board consisted of 5 people, 3 of which are clergy, 1 intercessor, and 1 lay person. All board members support, encourage, and endorse the work of this ministry.
